Article “A,an”
Rule – 01
Word এর প্রথম letter vowel হলে article an এ বসে।
যেমনঃ apple, eye, inkpot, umbrella etc
Rule – 02
Word এর প্রথম letter consonant হলে article a বসে।
যেমনঃ house, pen, table, river etc.
Rule – 03
“U” এর উচ্চারন ”ইউ” এবং “E” এর উচ্চারন ”ইউ“ এর মত হলে article a বসে।
যেমনঃ University, Union, Unity, European, Euro etc.
Rule – 04
“O” দ্বারা একটি মাত্র Word ” One” এর পূর্বে a বসে, বাকী যে কোন word “O” দিয়ে শুরু হলে article an বসে।
যেমনঃ One taka note, One eyed man, One man army.
Rule – 05
“H” এর উচ্চারন ”হ” এর মত না হয়ে ”অ/আ“ এর মত হলে article an বসে।
যেমনঃ Hour, Honorable, Honesty, honors etc.
Rule – 06
Abbreviation যুক্ত word এর প্রথম latter এর উচ্চারনের প্রথমে vowell হলে an এবং প্রথমে consonant থাকলে a বসে।
যেমনঃ an M.A, a B.A, a P.hd, a Dr. , an SSC, an HSC, a JSC etc.
Rule – 07
এক টুকরা যে কোন কিছু বুঝাতে a piece of phrase টি ব্যাবহার হয়।
যেমনঃ a piece of wood.
Rule – 08
সাধারনভাবে সকলকে বুঝাতে Article ‘A’ ব্যাবহার হয়।
যেমনঃ A teacher should teaches his student heartily.
Rule – 09
সংখ্যা বাচক এক (০১) এর স্থানে Article ‘A’ ব্যাবহার হয়।
যেমনঃ Twelve inches make a foot.

ভূ-সংলঘ্ন বিষয় সম্পর্কীত
মাটির সাথে লেগে থাকে যে জিনিসগুলোর পূর্বে the বসে।মহাসাগর, সাগর, নদ, নদী, দীপপুঞ্জ , জাহাজ, বন, পাহাড়, পর্বত, মরুভূমি, জলপ্রপাত, ভৌগলিক বিষয়বস্তু, ভৌগোলিক নামসমূহ, Abbreviation যুক্ত দেশের নাম, মহাদেশ, সংষদ ভবন, ঐতিহাসিক স্থান, ঐতিহাসিক ঘটনা, সপ্তম আশ্চর্য, যুদ্ধ, অদ্বীতিয় যে কোন জিনিস, পেশাগত নাম।

সংবাদপত্র, পত্রিকা, বিখ্যাত পুস্তক, সংবিধান, ধর্মগ্রন্থ, আন্তর্জাতিক চুক্তি/দলিল।

মহাকাশ সম্পর্কীত
মহাকাশে যাবতীয় সকল কিছুর পূর্বে The বসে। গ্রহ, উপগ্রহ, তারা, নক্ষত্র, চাঁদ, সূর্য, পৃথিবী, আকাশ, মহাবিশ্ব, সৌরজগত, ধুমকেতু, ছায়াপথ, ,কক্ষপথ ইত্যাদি শুধু কৃত্তিমভাবে পাঠানো কোন কিছুর পূর্বে the বসে না।

জাতি বাচক সম্পর্কীত
পৃথিবীতে অস্তীত্বশীল সকল প্রকার জাতির পূর্বে article the বসে।শুধু মানব জাতি বাদে, মানব জতির পূর্বে কোন article বসে না।
যেমনঃ The cat, the cow, the bee, the ant, Man, the English, the Bangalees etc.
Rule – 05
কোন কিছুকে নির্দিষ্ট করতে
(i) যে কোন কিছুকে নির্দিষট করতে বা নির্দিষ্ট করে বুঝাতে এর পূর্বে The বসে।
The box is too heavy, it was full of goods.
(ii) একটি noun একটি passage এ একাধিকবার ব্যাবহার হলে প্রথমবার সেটি অনির্দিষ্ট হবে এর পর Noun টি যতবার ব্যাবহার হয় ততবারই সেটি নির্দিষ্ট হয়ে যায়।
I have a flower garden. The garden is very nice to look at. I water the garden every day. I take care of the garden and I am proud of the garden very much.
(iii) The + Noun + of + The + Noun
..the…. doors of the house are nice.
(iv) পূর্বে উল্লেখ্য কোন জিনিস বুঝালে এর পূর্বে The বসে।
The pen is lost that you gave me.
The story I still remember, because it was too interesting.

Rule-06
তারিখ, ঋতু, দিকের পূর্বে The বসে
যেমনঃ
Mr.Roy died in the 10th June.
She came here in the Summer season.
They went to the east.
Rule-07
পদবী, উপাধী, রাস্তার নামের পূর্বে the বসে।
যেমনঃ
We went to the Chairman.
The Chowdhry was present in the meeting.
Our picnic bus was stopped on the Begum Rokeya Road.
Rule-08
Superlative degree এর পূর্বে The বসে।
যেমনঃ
Mr. Jamil is the most intelligent man in our office.
Miss. Mousumi is the fastest working woman in our company.
Rule -09
দুটো comparative degree পাশা-পাশি বসলে এদের পূর্বে the বসে।
যেমনঃ
The more, the merior.
The sooner, the better.
Rule – 10
Common noun এ possessive adjective হিসাবে the বসে।
যেমনঃ she hit him on (the) head.
Rule – 11
Adjective এর আগে the ব্যাবহার করলে এই অবস্থার জাতিকে বুঝায়।
যেমনঃ The poor are industrious. The pious are always happy.
Rule – 12
কোন noun গুনবাচক শব্দ দ্বারা বিশেষিত হলে এর পূর্বে the বসে।
যেমনঃ The yellow bird, the white lion, the red fish etc.

কিছু noun/Ajective এর পূর্বে the ব্যাবহার করে একে abstract noun করা হয়।
যেমনঃ The future (futurity) is unknown, Do not leap in the dark(darkness), check the beast (animal nature) in you.

ক্রমিক সংখ্যার অবস্থান নির্নয় করতে the বসে।
যেমনঃ the first, the second, the fifth . Charls (the) second is a good king.

সংগীত যন্ত্রের পূর্বে The বসে।
যেমনঃ Rana can play the piano.
Rule – 15
গুরুত্ব দেওয়া বুঝাতে Noun-এর আগে The বসে।
যেমনঃ The verb is the word (the main word) in a sentence.
Cross Article (X)
Rule – 01.
Man দ্বারা মানব জতি বুঝালে এর পূর্বে (X) article বসে।
যেমনঃ
(X) Man is mortal.
(X) Human Being is the best creation of God.
Rule – 02.
Proper noun এর পূর্বে (X) বসে।
যেমনঃ
I met with (x) him yesterday.
Rule – 03.
Pronoun এর পূর্বে (X) বসে।
যেমনঃ
I send (x) him a nice box.
(x) She is one of the important member of our club.
Rule – 04.
Verb এর পূর্বে (X) বসে।
যেমনঃ
I can (x) complete the work alone.
Sumi (x) was taking tea then.

Preposition এর পূর্বে (X) বসে।
যেমনঃ
They are catching fish (x) in the pond.
I have a gift (x) for you.
Rule – 06.
Adjective + noun এর মধ্যে (x) article বসে।
যেমনঃ
It was a terrible (x) story.
The intelligent (x) boy came here yesterday.
Rule – 07.
Adverb + adjective এর মধ্যে (x) article বসে।
যেমনঃ
It was a very (x) interesting story.
We heard too (x) funny jokes.

আগে থেকেই article দেওয়া থাকলে এর পূর্বে (x) article বসে।
যেমনঃ
Grand mom told us (x) a nice story.
I found (x) the book that I lost yesterday.
Rule – 09.
ভাষার পূর্বে (x) article বসে
যেমনঃ
The English speaks in (x) English.
(x) Spanish is an ancient language.
Rule – 10.
ক্রম যুক্ত Word এর মধ্যে হঠাৎ gap থাকলে সেখানে (x) article বসে।
যেমনঃ
He ate rice, dal, fish, (x) meat and water at lunch.
We visited many places such as Rajshahi, Barisal, (x) Khulna and Sylhet.
Rule – 11.
জোড়া শব্দের মধ্যে gap থাকলে (x) article বসে।
যেমনঃ
We visited Sona (x) Mosjid yesterday with my all friends.
