Preposition:
একটি Preposition একটি Noun বা Pronoun বা Noun সমতুল্য একটি বাক্যে একটি Noun বা Pronoun এবং অন্যান্য শব্দের মধ্যে সম্পর্ক দেখানোর জন্য একটি শব্দ স্থাপন বা অবস্থান করা হয়।
to, in , of, for, from, with, without, by, beside, infront of etc.
Example:
He is going to field.
Tell me about yourself.
These people are coming from school.
Prepostion পাঁচ প্রকারঃ
i. Simple Preposition
যে preposition সাধারনভাবে একটি word নিয়ে গঠিত হয় তাকে Simple preposition বলে।
in, at, by, of, for, on, over, under, up, to, from, out, about, under, with, etc.
Example:
He is going to field.
Tell me about yourself.
These people are coming from school.
2. Double Preposition
যে Preposition এ দুটি অংশ থাকে তাকে double preposition বলে।
into, onto, within, without, from, among, toward, behind, etc.
Example:
We shall complete it within a week.
It is impossible to do the task without your help.
Distribute these mangoes among the girl.
III. Compound Preposition
দুই বা ততোধিক শব্দ দিয়ে তৈরি preposition কে Compound Preposition বলে।
instead of, in front of, in between, out of, in behalf of, in place of, except for, throughout, underneath, on account of, according to, etc.
Example:
He ate rice instead of bread.
There is a pond in front of our house.
He got GPA 2.50 out of 5.00
iv. Participial Preposition
Present বা past participle যখন preposition আকারে ব্যাবহার হয় তখন তাকে Participial Preposition বলে।
Example:
What do you know regarding this proposal.
Considering the reality, the price is not enough.
Struggling a lot, she able to achieve success in life.
v. Preposition of Place, Position and Direction
যে সকল preposition জায়গা, অবস্খান ও দিকের পরিবর্তে ব্যাবহৃত হয় তাকে Preposition of Place, Position and Direction বলে।
in, at, on, by, next, to, beside,
Example:
Now she lives at Dhaka.Raihana lives next to my house.
The mosque is beside the field.
vi. Preposition of time
যে সকল preposition সময়ের পরিবর্তে ব্যাবহৃত হয় তাকে Preposition of time বলে।
At, After, Before, By, During, From, For, In, On, Since, Within, throughout,
Example:
Usually they go to school at 10.00 am.
I meet with him on Sunday.
It was long since I saw her last.
vii. Preposition of Reason or Purpose
যে সকল preposition কোন কারন বা উদ্দেশ্য এর পরিবর্তে ব্যাবহৃত হয় তাকে Preposition of Reason or Purpose বলে।

Example:
He died of cancer.
Rai lost her pen through negligence.
Hasan is trembling with fear.
